Congregation Beth David San Luis Obispo

This project is the first U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified project in San Luis Obispo, as well as the first LEED-certified synagogue in the world. Richard Beller was the project architect for San Luis Sustainability Group (http://www.slosustainability.com/) for this 16,000 square-foot religious facility located in San Luis Obispo. This project uses 80% less energy than a typical building of this type and relies on passive solar architecture to heat and cool the spaces. Extensive use of natural lighting and ventilation are also employed in the design.
