Prefumo Canyon Residence
The Project
The design theme for this 4400-square foot residential construction project at the top of Prefumo Canyon was first and foremost to complement the natural surroundings. This home was designed to take full advantage of beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the coastline beyond.
Materials, textures, and colors were carefully selected to blend with the rugged terrain. Serpentine rock was collected from the site and used for stone veneer on planter walls and retaining walls. Gently curving walls were used as highlights on special interior spaces to suggest the rhythm of the rolling terrain. The interior living spaces feature natural wood millwork, cabinetry, and flooring, along with post and beam construction, and exposed cedar ceilings.
